Shipping & Delivery
Every Bare piece is handcrafted to order in South Africa, then carefully crated and dispatched through our courier partner. Here's how it works.
Lead time
Most pieces ship within 2 to 4 weeks of your order being placed. Larger tables and made-to-spec pieces sit at the longer end of that range; smaller items like benches and hanging boards tend to be quicker. We'll confirm your dispatch date by email once your piece is in the build queue.
Shipping cost
Shipping is quoted at checkout based on the weight, size, and destination of your order. Because solid wood furniture varies so much in scale — from a 5kg hanging board to a 14-seater dining table — we calculate the true cost per order rather than charging a flat fee or building it into the prices.
You'll see your shipping cost before you confirm payment. No surprises after the fact.
Delivery across South Africa
We ship nationwide through KRF Freight & Logistics. Standard transit times once your piece leaves the workshop:
- Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban — 24 hours
- Cape Town, East London, Port Elizabeth — 48 hours
- Outer-lying areas — quoted separately, usually 3 to 5 working days
Receiving your piece
Large items are delivered curbside. We strongly recommend having a second pair of hands available on delivery day — a 12-seater dining table or full body mirror is not a one-person lift. If you need help getting the piece into the room, let us know in advance and we'll arrange a quote for white-glove placement.
Please inspect your piece on delivery and let us know within 48 hours if anything isn't right. Solid wood does shift slightly with travel and climate; small movements are normal and will settle within a week of being in your space.
International shipping
We currently ship within South Africa only. If you're outside the country and have your heart set on a piece, get in touch and we'll see what we can arrange.
Returns & exchanges
Because each piece is built to order, we don't accept returns for change of mind. If your piece arrives damaged or doesn't match the spec on your order, we'll repair, replace, or refund — whichever makes most sense for the situation. Just reach out within 7 days of delivery.
